Job Summary
Provides peri-operative nursing care in a multidisciplinary environment to patients during their intra -operative surgical experience.
Qualifications
- Current CARNA registration.
- Canadian Nurses Association Peri-operative certification preferred.
- Current BCLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification preferred.
- Successful completion of a Peri-operative Course or current experience in an
operating room of similar function in the last five years. - Extent and type of past ope rating room experience may be considered if beyond
five years. - Successful completion of a senior practicum in Peri-operative Nursing will be
considered. - Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized, rapid moving environment.
- Demonstrates communication skills promoting respect and team spirit.
- Ability to stand scrubbed for many hours supporting the surgical team.
- Repeated contact with radiographic procedures and ability to wear lead apron
protection for an extended period of time. - Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team.
